TrueSpeak Advisory to DoD in the "War of Words" and "War of Ideas"

1. Seek a modest change in the current DoD "guidance" which advises that we avoid almost all Islamic religious words -- modified merely so as to
   1. avoid parroting the false word "Jihad" (holy war) and begin substituting for it the word for word "Hirabah" -- pronounced hee-RAH-bah and meaning "unholy war" and forbidden "war against society," instead;
   2. avoid the words "mujahiddin" (holy warriors) and "shahiddin" (martyrs) and "fedayeen" (those willing to die for, to be martyred for) and begin calling these assassins and suicide mass murderers the "mufsidoon" (evildoers) they really are;
   3. allow making the point that according to Islam those "mufsidoon" who will not cease their evildoing -- and earnestly seek and receive forgiveness from Allah for their sinful ways -- are almost surely destined not for "Jinnah" (Paradise) but for "Jahannam" (eternal Hellfire), instead.
2. Avoid repeating al Sadr's self-sanctifying "Mahdi Army" label, because the Mahdi is Allah Himself -- in the Redeemer and Messiah roles -- on Judgment Day
3. Avoid being demonized by the "death squads" label, by proactively and pre-emptively referring to the "al Qaeda Death Squads," the "al-Zarqawi Death Squads," the "al-Sadr Death Squads" and other assorted mufsidoon (evildoers) by both of these terms
4. Minimize the careless and gratuitous use of the terms "invasion," "war" and "war on Iraq" and emphasize, instead, such correct terms as the recent "liberation of Iraq," the ongoing "democratization of Iraq" and the current "peacekeeping" and "reconstruction" missions in Iraq -- all of which are dangerous and life-threatening but not per se WAR or per se OCCUPATION, either
5. Shed the negative "occupiers" and "occupation force" labels by officially renaming the US and Coalition forces -- whose legal status has changed, now that there is an elected Interim Iraqi Government -- and by calling them the International
   • "Force For Peace and Stability" (Quwwat al-Salaam wa al-Istiqrar)
   • "Force for Peace and Justice" (Quwwat al-Salaam wa al-'Adl)
   • "Force For Peace and Freedom" (Quwwat al-Salaam wa al-Hurriah)
   • "Force Against the Evildoers" (Quwwat dhud al-Mufsiduun)
   • "Force Against the al Qaeda Apostasy" (Quwwat dhud al Murtadd al Qaeda)
6. Place the "war of words" issue, even in small ways, on every possible agenda and in every possible panel discussion and every anti-terrorism conference, without which it will seldom be seriously discussed at all
7. In due course, organize and schedule a major Public Affairs, Civil Affairs, Public Diplomacy, PsyOp and Information Operations conference on "war of words" and related "War of Ideas" matters only, or at least primarily so
8. Create small, highly focused "war of words" working groups within each of these DoD agencies and disciplines -- and establish an inter-agency element of coordination, as well
9. Select only half a dozen principal Arabic and Islamic words (including the three explained above: Hirabah by mufsidoon destined for Jahannam) on which to focus initially, with other "approved" words and tactics to be prudently added in due course
10. Help to recruit additional scholars and Muslim clerics to contribute their words of wisdom and truth-in-Islam to the "Hirabah" thesis work-in-progress compendium previously provided. Current contributors who now number about 25 should be doubled by mid-year, and doubled again by year's end
11. Help to instigate and evaluate the "Hirabah versus Jihad" Q & A format previously provided, in form of a big-prize, high rewards essay contest in selected venues -- probably best in relatively quiet and moderate Muslim World university cities -- with the basic questions to be answered as follows:
    • What is going on here --Godly Jihad (holy war) or un-Godly Hirabah (unholy war)?
    • Who are these killers -- mujahiddin (holy warriors) & martyrs or mufsidoom (evildoers)?
    • Where are they headed -- to Allah's Jinnah (Paradise) or Satan's Jahannam (Hellfire)?
    • Are they promoting Sharia (Allah's Law) or Tajdeef Shaitaniyah (Satanic Blasphemy)?
    • Finally, provide correct answers to whatever other good-versus-evil questions in Islam which would strengthen the rationale for the truth-in-language and truth-in-Islam answers that the contestant has posited
12. In similar fashion, design and impliment a big-prize essay contest (which might even be worldwide and involve millions of dollars of prize money and other rewards) in which contestants -- which might be institutional, as well as individual -- would be challenged to compose their true-to- Islam versions of Osama bin Laden's most comprehensive possible mea culpa assertions of of regret and repentance to Allah on Judgement Day.
    Using all of bin Laden's unauthorized and un-Islamic fatwas and all of his calls and justifications for so-called "jihad" -- actually for forbidden "Hirabah" -- and deconstructing these in the light of Islam's prohibitions against all variety of crimes against humanity and sins against Allah, contestants would quote him as confessing earnestly and fully to all the ruthless evildoing and the blasphemous activities listed below, and others, and pleading for the Forgiveness without which he will be cast into Hellfire.
13. Be willing and fully prepared to prove that The Al Qaeda Blasphemy against the "peaceful, compassionate, merciful and just" Allah -- who is repeatedly so described by the Quran -- consists of at least the following willful and ruthless violations of Islamic Law
    • Wanton killing of innocents and noncombatants, including peaceful Muslims
    • Decapitating the live and desecrating the dead bodies of perceived enemies
    • Committing and enticing others to commit suicide for reasons of intimidation
    • Fomenting hatred among communities, nations, religions and civilizations
    • Ruthless warring against nations in which Islam is freely practiced
    • Issuing and inspiring unauthorized and un-Islamic fatwas (religious edicts)
    • Using some mosques as battle stations and others as targets for destruction
    • Forcing absolutist versions (and perversions) of Islam on Muslims, when the Quran says that there shall be "no compulsion in religion"
    • Distorting the word "infidels" to include all Christians, all Jews and many Muslims -- when the Quran calls them all "Children of the Book" (the Old Testament) and "Sons of Abraham"
    • Deliberate misreading, ignoring and perverting of passages of the Quran and the Islamic Jurisprudence (the Fiqh)
14. In keeping with these multiple violations of Islamic law, describe and condemn both Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda Blasphemy as a demonic assimilation and horrific transmutation of
    • the Crusades
    • the Spanish Inquisition
    • the Conquistadors
    • the Salem Witch Hunts, Trials and Burnings
    • the Ku Klux Klan
    • the Reverend Jim Jones' suicidal madness
    • the Oklahoma City bombers and
    • Satan himself, in all of his deceptions, cruelties and blasphemies ...
    ... today's version of which is, of course, THE AL QAEDA APOSTASY !!! … and in Islam is, therefore, punishable by DEATH.
15. Challenge the patently false accusation of "infidel" -- on the rationale that the Quran clearly says that Christians, Jews and Muslims are all "Children of the Book" (the Old Testament) and "Sons of Abraham," and even defines Jesus as a major Prophet of Islam (some say second only to Mohammed)
16. Challenge the false notion that suicide mass murderers are "martyrs" -- and argue that they are merely "dead" and are probably destined for Jahannam (Eternal Hellfire) as just punishment for their unrepented and, therefore, unforgiven evildoing
17. Encourage early completion and eventual DoD approval and use of a workaday Glossary of a 50- 60 Arabic and Islamic words and terms, correctly defining any which are currently distorted by either careless or deceitful influences -- and incorporating the several truthful but now almost always excluded words of the "Hirabah by mufsidoon destined for Jahannam" frame of reference above
18. Promote the Iraqi slogan and/or the informal policy statement that would be favored by most Iraqis: AKHRIJU AMRIKAN ... WA LAKINA LAISA AL-'AN -- which means GO HOME AMERICANS ... BUT NOT QUITE YET -- and which is what the President and most Americans want, too!!!
19. Promote the proposed new universal "Handsign of Liberty" which is a composite of the mid- 1980s "L for Laban" (Fight For Freedom) handsign from the Philippines, the late-1980s "L for Libertad" handsign from Nicaragua and the current ink-stained forefinger "I Have Voted" handsign from liberated and newly-democratic Iraq.
    To render this message, the forefinger of the right hand is thrust skyward, the thumb is extended horizontally and the other three fingers are folded down -- which results in a bold assertion of the new "L for Liberty" salute to "Freedom" and "Liberty" and "Democracy," all wrapped into one.
20. Subject to White House approval, promote this Handsign of Liberty as a rallying symbol for President Bush's visionary new Doctrine of Liberty For All & Tyranny For None.
