For the last three weeks, major parts of the Muslim World -- spurred on by al Qaeda, and Iranian tyrannies and others who seek to distract attention from their own criminal and sinful ways -- have been seething in anger, flag burning and even death threats. Their fury, some actual and some faked for the cameras, is triggered by several cartoons pubished in Denmark six months ago which were disrespectful of the Prophet Muhammad.
But all the while, the outraged protesters, their off-camera agitators and a hyped-up and largely anti-Western media seem quite unconcerned over the apostate activities by al Qaeda irhabists (terrorists) which "in the Name of Allah, of course "are a thousand times more insulting to the Prophet, to the Quran and to Allah Himself than a spate of tasteless drawings by three or four non-Muslim Europeans.
Where, for instance, is the outrage over the fact that al Qaeda itself is daily confirming the infamous bomb in Muhammad's turban caricature? Clearly, they do so by sponsoring high-explosives suicide martyrdom killings whose entire justification is based on the false holy war assertion that both the Prophet and Allah whole-heartedly approve of such atrocities.
Thus, while these drawings may well be insulting to sensitive and truly faithful Muslims, many of the violent protesters "and all too many moderate Muslims, as well" seem to be ignoring and even giving tacit approval to such satanic al Qaeda-style transgressions, crimes and sins as
Not only these but many other outside-the-religion (khawarij) violations of Quranic Islam would normally condemn the perpetrators as deviants, infidels and apostates. But these monumental desecrations are now either ignored or even applauded as godly elements of an anything-goes Jihad (a so-called holy war) "which is in truth nothing more than a pseudo-Islamic scam, whose real name should forever be The Al Qaeda Apostasy.
Moderate Muslims to the Rescue? Three Models to Follow
Under these most dangerous circumstances, the Muslim "moderates must pull back from the abyss, move beyond their understandable annoyance over the cartoon episode and focus, instead, on rescuing their beloved religion from the real and present danger of an al Qaeda insurgency which is ripping apart and re-modeling in its own violent and hate-filled image the peaceful, compassionate, merciful and just Allah who is repeatedly so described by the Holy Quran.
The first model for truly anti-al Qaeda Muslims to follow should be the searing attack made almost a year ago by over forty brave Muslim clerics in Spain, mostly Sunnis, who issued a powerful fatwa (religious edict) on March 11, 2005, which correctly condemned Osama bin Laden "and by implication his suicide mass murdering followers" as an apostate and as an infidel and as being guilty of istihlal.
Such istihlal is Islam cardinal sin of playing God by arrogantly concocting one own self-serving perversion of the Quran and of correct Sharia (Islamic Law) much as the heretical Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Hunters and the suicidal Reverend Jim Jones once concocted their own pseudo-Christian apostasies in Spain, in New England and in the jungles of Guyana.
Another such pseudo-religious scam can be found in the so-called Liberation Theology of the communoid Leftists in Latin America which has little or nothing to do with either liberation or theology. Rather, it finds its perverse rationale in this quote from Vladimir Lenin, whose fascist-Left Heaven on Earth visions have long been an inspiration for Osama bin Laden dreams of a tyrannical Salafi-dominated Caliphate.
"We find our greatest success to the extent we inculcate Marxism [substitute bin Ladenism] as a kind of religion. Religious men and women are easy to convert and win, and will easily accept our thinking if we wrap it up in a kind of religious [substitute so-called "Holy War"] terminology."
A second superb model for the Moderate Muslim counter-attack on the al Qaeda-led enemies of authentic, Quranic Islam is the equally powerful Resolution of Condemnation of March 30, 2005 by the Washington, DC-area Free Muslims Against Terrorism. Citing and praising the Spanish fatwa of two weeks earlier, it resolved in part, paraphrasing:

And soon thereafter, on May 17, 2005, there was a remarkable but largely ignored Pakistani fatwa by 58 Muslim scholars and clerics. Similar to the other sharp attacks on al Qaeda-style suicide mass murder and other un-Godly forms of Muslim-on-Muslim hatred and violence, it ruled in part as follows:
First, "anybody who kills thinking it permissible in Islam commits infidelity. Therefore, according to Sharia, killing any Muslim while thinking it to be a reason to get into heaven or earn good deeds is Haram (forbidden in Islam); and
Second, "...Therefore, killing Muslims in mosques or public gatherings by blasting bombs, firing or carrying out suicidal missions is forbidden. And not only forbidden but considering it to be permissible in Islam a clear infidelity. And it is an unforgivable sin;" and
Third, "..According to this verse [Holy Quran 4:93], a deliberate murderer has been condemned forever to Hell, along with the condemnation of Allah and with great and painful punishment. ...and none but Allah can forgive such a person."
Although this widely endorsed edict was applied to AQ-style killings only within Pakistan, its statement of Quranic fundamentals is so clear as to transcend national boundaries. It goes so far as to condemn to Hellfire those deviant and unrepentant Muslims who plot and conduct mass killings of fellow Muslims -- which has become al Qaeda's principal tactic in Iraq and elsewhere. It is a ruthless tactic which is killing thousands of innocents and is leading brainwashed young "suicide martyrs" not into Allah's Paradise but in to Jahannam (Eternal Hellfire), instead.
Yet, like the other two condemnations cited above, this Pakistani declaration was largely ignored by the West and quickly forgotten by the media -- which seem far more impressed by loud street protests than by thoughtful condemnations of the al Qaeda Apostasy issued from time to time by faithful Muslim clerics, scholars and socio-religious organizations.
Needed: A Truly Holy Jihad to Preserve Allah's Self Portrait
The need now is for truly peaceful Muslims to employ some additional Islamic frame of reference that is more effective than a handful of fatwas and resolutions have been to date in identifying and condemning the al Qaeda infidels as the real enemies of Islam. Only then will the "main enemy" designation be shifted by Islam to where it truly belongs, rather than on a few troublesome but hardly deadly cartoonists.
In this regard, Muslims should turn to the highly revered "99 Names of Allah" by which the Holy Quran defines Allah -- and to find for each of these self-descriptive terms the Islamic antonym which best describes the sinful transgressions and the satanic character of the al Qaeda mufsidoon and like-minded terrorists who are busy bringing such discredit on the Prophet and on authentic, Quranic Islam.
Some of these more obvious comparisons -- which would quite clearly identify the al Qaeda terrorists not as abd' al-Allah (Servants of Allah) but as abd' al-Shaitan (Servants of Satan), instead -- might be the following dozen examples:
It is time now for the Ulema (the authentic scholars and Jurists of Islam) to complete this 99-part comparison in the most appropriate antonyms possible. With maximum precision, this unique initiative will "draw a picture" not on paper but in the minds, hearts and souls of all Muslims which describes in great Quranic detail exactly who Allah is -- and who, in stark contrast, the al Qaeda sinners, usurpers and abd' al-Shaitan transgressors really are.
Those faithful Muslims worldwide who care deeply about their beloved religion, must now rise up in anger against those arrogant Pretenders of the Faith who are ruthlessly attacking and soiling the divine picture -- the 99-part mosaic -- which Allah long ago, through the voice of the Angel Gabriel, painted of himself in the blessed and poetic words of the Quran.
If they do not, their passivity will place them in grave danger of a Judgment Day on which an unalterably Just Allah might condemn them to an eternal damnation for having allowed such a hate-driven apostasy as bin Ladenism to drag His Blessed Islam of peace, compassion and justice into darkness -- and to corrupt it into nothing but a hyena-like killing machine of all Christians, all Jews and all Muslims who happen to disagree.
According to all Muslims I know, that was most certainly not what the Allah of the Holy Quran had in mind. Quite the contrary, what He would almost surely approve today is a truly holy Jihad by His faithful -- not against America or the West or Christianity or Judaism but against the Murtadd al Qaeda (the al Qaeda Apostasy), which itself represents "The Great Satan" it so falsely accuses Abrahamic America of being.
